Decentralized payments solution provider Ripple has now boarded its first cluster of NFT creators as part of its $250 million Creator Fund.

Launched in September 2021, Ripple established a Creator Fund to help artists develop cutting-edge NFTs using the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Committing $250 million to the project, the firm provides tools, financial support, and partnerships to help creators, such as artists, game designers, and musicians, jump-start their NFT projects.

We’re excited to share the initial creators being funded by Ripple’s Creator Fund:

The first batch of NFT creators includes artist Justin Bua, filmmaker Steven Sebring; and xPunks, a collection of 10,000 NFTs. Moreover, NFT marketplaces NFT PRO, Ethernal Labs, and onXRP, will join existing partners Mintable, mintNFT, and VSA Partners to integrate the XRPL.

“By way of our Creator Fund and strategic partners, we’re leading more creators into the tokenized future and bringing their NFT apps and use cases to life on the XRP Ledger,” Monica Long, GM of RippleX at Ripple, said in a statement.

According to the press release issued Thursday, Ripple received requests from more than 4,000 applicants to join its Creator Fund. Creators who submitted projects focusing on NFT use cases, such as metaverses, games, art, and collectibles, were selected for the initial batch. The Fund will have a theme for every batch of applications moving forward.
