The Ripple vs SEC dispute has been going on since December 2020 and doesn’t seem to be coming to a conclusion anytime soon. In the latest update, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple defendants have submitted a joint proposal concerning the Summary Judgment in the XRP lawsuit.

The filing includes both parties securing the matter that relates to the proposition which is yet to be filed. The filing claims that the submission gives complete access to the public in regards to both the parties’ briefs in the XRP lawsuit. It did note, moreover, that any suggested edits will be minor

To maintain effectiveness, both parties have come together to give a fixed date for any edits, which is expected to be done once the replies are filed. With this filing, Ripple and SEC can decide on anything concerning the ongoing lawsuit. 

Parties To Proofread The Documents

As per the filings made, the time frame given for the edits is between September 13, 2022, to December 22, 2022. This will begin once both parties submit all the documents, like briefs, statements etc., related to the summary judgment. 

On September 15, 2022, both parties will meet and cross-check the edits made. They are also likely to address the issue surrounding the Hinman documents- the outcome of which shall be interesting. 

The opening motions must be filed on or before September 13, 2022, and the replies for these should be registered on or before November 15, 2022. 

John Deaton, the Amicus Curiae (court’s friend) in the XRP lawsuit stated that the briefs must be proofread by the parties before going ahead with the decision to submit the brief.
