Traders, especially XRP holders and investors, are closely watching the daily developments of the Ripple vs. SEC case.

Yesterday, July 23, SEC opposed the court’s decision to produce the Hinman-related documents and also filed an appeal to seal some parts of the July 12, 2022 filings. The agency explained that this appeal was regarding the refusal to produce the expert testimony.

As per the filing, the SEC said they had a conversation with Ripple on the same matter, but the agency foresees that Ripple will not accept most of their proposals.

The SEC added that apart from some claims, the commission’s modifications are all made to protect expert identities. It also claims that one of its experts faced life threats and harassment as the expert’s name was revealed.

Hence, the SEC has asked the court to remove the names of all the experts along with other details like contact information.

However, the SEC is not against the defendant’s request to include the third party’s details and said that if the court orders to protect all such details, it will make required modifications in the filing.

Meanwhile, according to attorney James Filan, the judiciary has fixed the deadline for any non-party to object or move the sealed parts of the filings on or by July 28, 2022.
