The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. will be accepting donations in crypto. The Archdiocese has partnered up with the crypto donations platform, Engiven, to make this possible.
The faithful will be able to donate a wide range of different crypto, from the most popular ones, such as BTC, to less-used ones, such as ZRX. They can also choose whether to send the donation anonymously or not.
According to Engiven, 100% of the donations will go toward the 139 parishes in the D.C. area. Apart from directly supporting the parishes with money influx, the archdiocese will use some of the money for local programs. For example, they will be providing food to the locals who are in need of it.
The Washington Archdiocese’s crypto-donation initiative is good news for crypto, as it suggests that at least some dioceses in the Roman Catholic Church are open to its increasing adoption.
