My Twitter was hacked today. and now is back. Please never click on any link that promote Airdrop or URL and look SCAMMY – and not 100% using our proper and unique URL/domain name : https://t.co/X3rXN9z8z7

The official Sandbox account also warned users that Arthur’s account was hacked as of the 26th. Hackers pretended to airdrop SAND tokens and posted fraudulent links.

Examples such as KuCoin
Twitter account hijacking fraud incidents occur frequently.
As a recent example, on April 24, the account of the crypto asset (virtual currency) exchange KuCoin was hacked. The hijacked time was only 45 minutes, but assets equivalent to a total of about 3 million yen (22,628 USDT) were stolen in the form of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
1/ The @kucoincom handle was compromised for about 45 mins from 00:00 Apr 24 (UTC+2). A fake activity was posted and unfortunately led to asset losses for several users. KuCoin will fully reimburse all verified asset losses caused by the social media breach and the fake activity.

In this case, funds were fraudulently raised in the form of a bogus giveaway scheme. “To celebrate 10 million KuCoin users, we will airdrop 5,000 bitcoins and 10,000 ethereum,” it said.
It seems that if you send the virtual currency at hand to the virtual currency owner, you will be able to remit the money, saying that you will receive double the amount.
KuCoin announced that it will reimburse all the funds lost by the victims. It also promised to introduce additional security measures on top of Twitter’s existing two-factor authentication protection to prevent such incidents. It also said it would work with Twitter to conduct a thorough investigation.
In January, the Twitter account of Robinhood, a major investment app that offers trading in cryptocurrencies and stocks, was also hijacked.
Hackers posted a fake promotion for the launch of a token called “RBH” and lured them to a decentralized exchange (DEX) to buy it.

One of the most highly publicized cases in recent years was the July 2020 hijacking of Twitter accounts of prominent individuals and companies, including Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Binance and Coinbase.
Remittances are induced by tweets to the effect that “If you send bitcoin, you will be doubled and returned.” The amount of damage was equivalent to 12 million yen. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested as the mastermind in the case.
