Proceed with meeting with exchange

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) appears to have held a meeting on Wednesday with officials from major exchanges where ETFs are traded, including the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and Chicago Board Options Exchange. FOX Business reported this in an interview on the 3rd.

According to company officials obtained by FOX Business, the meeting signals that the SEC is close to approving some or all ETFs from major asset managers and crypto companies. It has been seen. Specifically, the SEC is asking exchanges to amend and finalize their so-called 19b-4 filings, which require SEC approval before selling ETFs to the public.

Additionally, sources close to the filing process said the SEC could begin issuing approval notices this Friday, with trading potentially starting as early as next week. Both ETF analysts and issuers appear confident that a favorable decision will be made by the SEC on or before January 10, as the agency continues to meet with key players.

Bloomberg ETF expert James Seyffart agreed with financial lawyer Scott Johnsson’s view of “concurrent approval,” saying, “January 8 to January 10 is the SEC decision period that I’m keeping an eye on.” I said.

Agreed 100% with Scott here. January 8th – January 10th has been the window I’m watching and will remain the window I’m focused on. https://t.co/BpXlNBUN8t

Will Goldman Sachs also participate?

Additionally, major investment bank Goldman Sachs may participate as an designated ETF participant (AP) in the BlackRock and Grayscale Bitcoin spot ETFs, according to two people familiar with the matter.

According to a report by CoinDesk, negotiations are currently underway regarding the nomination of designated participants. Just last week, BlackRock named JPMorgan Securities LLC and Jane Street Capital as APs in a new filing.
