Anatoly Yakovenko, one of the co-founders of Solana, has expressed concerns over the long-term sustainability of the layer-2 solutions currently integrated within the Ethereum ecosystem. According to Yakovenko, these solutions are not built to scale due to their high gas fees, which make it difficult for dApps to operate efficiently. He further stated that even though layer-2 scaling solutions such as Polygon and Arbitrum have gained significant traction lately, they are still not sustainable in the long run. Yakovenko’s comments come at a time when Ethereum has been struggling with congestion, high fees, and slow transaction times, which have caused some developers to migrate to alternative networks such as Solana.
