On July 20, Sony Bank began accepting applications for its first digital security product, “Investment Condominium Loan Bond Security Token (No. 1 in 2023).” It is said that it will be solicited from July 20th to August 14th with a unit of 100,000 yen and a subscription amount of 100 million yen for a “performance dividend type jointly operated designated money trust beneficiary right” operated by trust beneficiary rights backed by Sony Bank’s investment condominium loan receivables.

Jointly operated designated money trust beneficiary rights are “digital securities” (security tokens) that utilize a blockchain platform to reduce the rights displayed on securities, etc., and are composed and issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. Securitize Japan provides a private blockchain platform. Sony Bank will be the first Japanese bank to handle digital securities.
