Startale Labs and Sony Network Communications to co-host Web3 Entrepreneurship Support Project

Web3 deployment of Sony Network Communications

The new company “Startale Labs” of Sota Watanabe, the founder of the public blockchain Astar Network from Japan, announced a partnership with Sony Network Communications Inc. on the 17th.

From mid-March to mid-June 2011, “Web3 Incubation Program Powered by Sony Network Communications and Astar” will be jointly held.

Also, from February 17, we started recruiting companies to participate in the incubation. Applications can be submitted from all over the world regardless of the phase of the Web3 startup, but 15-20 projects will be selected for the incubation program in consideration of the synergy between Sony Network Communications and Astar, their technical capabilities, team strength, and product appeal.

Startale Labs is a Web3 tech company that develops multi-chain applications and infrastructure. We conduct research and development and incubation based on the achievements and connections we have cultivated through Astar Network.

In addition, the Japanese subsidiary Startale Labs Japan was established on January 31, and is developing Web3 business development and business consulting in Japan by leveraging the strength of a public blockchain from Japan.

Sony Network Communications is an operating company of the Sony Group that develops a wide range of businesses from entertainment to finance. It mainly promotes IoT business, AI business, and new business utilizing assets within the Sony Group.

In April 2010, Sony Network Communications established Sony Network Communications Singapore, a contract development and consulting business related to NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

Features of the incubation program

The incubation program, which will be held from mid-March, will include sessions from global VCs and Web3 companies, mentoring on business and technology strategies, and matching with the resources of Sony Network Communications. An offline demo day will be held in Japan during Japan Blockchain Week in mid-June.

This program has the following features.

• You can directly connect with the world’s top-level Web3 companies such as the Web3 Foundation and Alchemy, and receive feedback and valuable sessions free of charge.
• Tech support and financial support are provided as well as being able to leverage the resources of Sony Network Communications and Astar. Investment from Sony Network Communications is also being considered for promising companies.
• After the incubation program, demonstration experiments with Sony Network Communications and product growth support by the Astar team will be conducted.
