TezAsia hackathon launches with over $200,000 in prizes and grants

TezAsia, a Web3 hackathon targeted at opening career opportunities for aspiring developers and blockchain enthusiasts, has officially opened for registration, Tezos India and TZ APAC have announced.

Tezos India and TZ APAC are the organizers of the month-long hackathon, with both platforms working towards further development and adoption of the Tezos blockchain and ecosystem across the region.

Registration for TezAsia, the largest hackathon for Tezos in Asia, is open until 8 July. 

According to the announcement shared with Invezz, TezAsia is teaming up with tech platform Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete) to host and manage the registration process.

30-day event, 0ver $200,000 in prizes and grants

The TezAsia hackathon is scheduled to kick off on 10 July and run through 16 August 2022. Per the organizers, there is over $200k in prizes and grants on offer – this will be split $100k for prizes and another $100k in grants.

A special prize for the women category is also available, which the teams say is set at $10,000 for the winner of the Women In Tech (WIT) track.

In a comment on the event, Om Malviya, President of Tezos India said:

It is a one-size-fits-all moment for all to enter and contribute to the Tezos ecosystem through a spectrum of activities mentored by global leaders. It will be a defining moment for those aspiring students and enthusiasts with the singular goal of learning and achieving massive heights in their lives.”

The hackathon offers participants a chance to explore new careers as they interact and learn from some of Tezos’ leading dApps and teams. The hackathon’s themes will cover NFTs, DeFi and more.
