The aptly named Sports Metaverse, the first sports-focused metaverse in the world, and top UFC fighter Amanda Nunes announced a partnership, under which Nunes will offer personal training in her metaverse gym, Invezz learned from a press release.

Nunes, who is widely regarded as the greatest female MMA fighter of all time, is a two division UFC champion. The agreement also marks the launch of a metaverse land sale, where users can buy land, trade NFTs, visit stadiums, and interact with sports icons. The presale will open to the public in June.

Uniting the most prominent athletes, brands, and clubs

The Sports Metaverse unites the most-recognized sports stars, clubs, and brands. It was developed by SportsIcon in cooperation with industry veterans from Nvidia, Sony, and more.

SportsIcon CEO and cofounder Chris Worsey commented:

We are delighted to welcome Amanda Nunes and the five sports brands to the Sports Metaverse. Amanda’s gym and the training she will offer are unique. We are the only metaverse volumetrically capturing icons like this, enabling consumers to interact with top athletes in a completely new way. This is ground-breaking stuff and we can’t wait for the public land sale in June.

Nunes, who will train users to fight in her gym, said:

It always was a dream to have a gym. You want to be in control of your stuff, you want to train the way you want. You want to be able to share with the fans. I’m building my own gym in the real world and now I have one in the metaverse. It’s very exciting! I can’t wait to put all my posters in my own gym! I’ve made a lot of history in MMA and I can’t wait to have all my pictures and memories of these moments in my gym, so every time I walk in I have a good vibe and be able to train to do even more good things in the sport. I can’t wait for the next step in my life!

Prime land is on sale in the Metaverse

The Sports Metaverse is selling top real estate in Lion Lands and the Sports City. Users can watch live sports, visit a stadium and a sports casino, socialize, acquire NFTs with sports stars, Play2Earn, and interact with Amanda Nunes. Companies that have bought land in presale are Own the Moment, Beyond The Game Network, ThriveFantasy, and Press Sports.
