American YouTuber Logan Paul is the latest household name planning to debut his NFT marketplace, joining the likes of retired NFL player Tom Brady and musician John Legend. In addition to an NFT platform, Paul may also indulge in DAO-related ventures, CoinDesk reported Friday citing trademark applications submitted on February 4.
Per the latest filings, Paul looks to launch an online marketplace of “downloadable digital collectibles, namely, photographs, artwork, art reproductions, digital art files and image files, and videos” that can be used in virtual environments, such as metaverse.
The application, marked as ‘ORIGINALS DAO’, also requested to create an online community that will function as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The filing read:
“Computer services, namely, creating an on-line community for users to participate in discussions, connect with companies and individuals, form virtual communities and DAOs, engage in networking, establish work agreements and accept payments, transfer and stake cryptocurrency tokens, vote on community proposals, participate in a DAO…”
Logan Paul is a famous YouTuber and social media personality with more than 23 million subscribers on YouTube as of January 2022. He has not shied away from the latest NFT boom and purchased NFTs worth over $2.6 million in 2021 alone.
In the past few months, several celebrities and brands filed trademark applications that venture into the crypto ecosystem. Most recently, McDonald’s filed several applications related to metaverse-focused ‘virtual restaurants’ that seek to offer NFT rewards and home delivery.
