UkraineDAO, a DAO built to help the Ukrainian army, has now raised over $3.35 million to aid with war relief efforts.
The organization, launched last Sunday, is co-founded by Pussy Riot co-founder Nadezda Tololonnikova, members of the investment group PleasrDAO, and NFT studio Trippy Labs.

Proceeds from the DAO will be transferred to the Ukrainian NGO ‘Come Back Alive’ which recently raised millions in US Dollars and crypto before being banned from the fundraising website ‘Patreon.’ According to Patreon, the organization was looking to fund military personnel which violates Patreon’ policies. Meanwhile, the NGO can still accept donations in cryptocurrencies.
Nadezda Tololonnikova’s Pussy Riot, a Russian feminist performance art collective and punk band, tweeted the news on February 25:
“Our goal is to raise funds to donate to Ukrainian civilian organizations who help those suffering from the war that Putin started in Ukraine. We’ll be buying an NFT of Ukrainian flag.”
UkraineDAO has released a one-of-one unique NFT of the Ukrainian Flag to raise funds for the war. It has collaborated with the PartyBid platform where people can get fractionalized ownership of the NFT.
Several big names in the crypto industry have voiced their criticism against Russia’s declaration of an unprovoked war against Ukraine. Canadian-Russian Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently called Russia’s war on Ukraine “a crime against the Ukrainian and Russian people” in a tweet posted in his mother tongue.
Buterin also retweeted UkraineDAO’s Twitter post calling its followers to support the country with donations.
