A notable new feature in Uniswap v4 is something called “Hook.” Hook provides plug-in functionality that allows users to perform a variety of customizations when designing liquidity pools (LPs). This will allow developers to build customized automated market maker (AMM) pools on top of the Uniswap protocol's liquidity and security foundations.

The improvements will allow users to flexibly set fees based on market fluctuations and implement strategies like dollar-cost averaging (DCA) to spread out recurring purchases.

The Uniswap Foundation has expressed its strong belief that v4 should be the most thoroughly audited code ever deployed on Ethereum (ETH), and has created a three-step roadmap to achieve this. It is set.

Synergy with Ethereum Dencun too

Among the Ethereum Dencun upgrades (or related Ethereum upgrades) scheduled for March 2024, EIP-1153 is of particular interest and is expected to create synergies for Uniswap v4.

EIP-1153 introduces a new opcode that allows smart contracts to store temporary data and reset this after each transaction completes, resulting in lower storage costs and network efficiency, thus hooking Uniswap v4. Influence design.

In Uniswap v4, hooks provide a flexible mechanism for integrating different functionality at each point in the liquidity pool lifecycle. EIP-1153's use of ephemeral storage makes these hooks viable at low gas costs, and Uniswap v4 allows for a variety of user-involved features (e.g. automatic trade execution under certain conditions) to be implemented at low gas costs.
