Multinational music company Universal Music Group announced Thursday that it will create its future NFT projects in partnership with NFT platform Curio. From now onwards, the Curio platform will develop digital collectibles for UMG’s record labels, operating companies, and recording artists worldwide, UMG said in the announcement.

Launched in 2020, Curio is a popular entertainment-focused NFT platform that has created more than 75,000 NFTs since February 2021. The company’s co-founder and CEO Ben Arnon is a former employee of UMG, and its Head of Music & Influencer NFT Global Partnerships is Dan Dymtrow, a former music manager of Avril Lavigne, Fifth Harmony, Taylor Swift, and more.

Ben Arnon said in the press release:

“Curio is thrilled to be partnered with UMG in the NFT and Web3 space. UMG has a huge catalog with unlimited opportunity to deliver value to fans across the globe. Their brands and labels are historic and iconic. And the digital innovation and Web3 expertise amongst their executives is unparalleled.”

UMG’s latest partnership with Curio would allow the music label to create a new revenue model by minting various artists-related NFTs. The company currently represents a wide range of artists around the world, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lil Wayne, Adele, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Coldplay, and more.
