Wave of Bitcoin ETF approvals

ProShares, the asset management company that offered the first Bitcoin futures ETF in the United States, has filed an application with the SEC to list five new leveraged Bitcoin ETFs.

ProShares will file ProShares Plus Bitcoin ETF, ProShares Ultra Bitcoin ETF, ProShares UltraShort Bitcoin ETF, Proshares Short Bitcoin ETF, and ProShares ShortPlus Bitcoin ETF, which refer to the “Bloomberg Galaxy Bitcoin Index.” These are not spot-type ETFs, but derivative-type ones.

A Bitcoin spot ETF was approved for the first time in the US last week, boosting demand for Bitcoin investment products. On the other hand, some believe that demand for Bitcoin futures ETFs will decline in the future as investors can now invest in spot ETFs.

In addition, yesterday the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange), Nasdaq, and Cboe all filed applications for option trading on Bitcoin spot ETFs. Last week, Grayscale also applied to list a Bitcoin Covered Call ETF.
