Less than a week after the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France over the weekend, a report has emerged that the Indian government is investigating the messaging platform over alleged criminal activities, including extortion and gambling. 

The investigation into Telegram, which does not have a physical office in India, is being conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). MeitY has noted that Telegram is following IT regulations and publishing monthly compliance reports.

Trouble for the Toncoin Ecosystem?
