Xandeum, a blockchain storage layer, is set to reveal its cutting-edge solution for scaling Solana’s storage capacity at Breakpoint 2024 in Singapore.
The highly anticipated announcement, scheduled for September 20, 2024, will also include details of Xandeum’s new liquid staking platform and the official launch of the XAND token.
Solving Solana’s storage limitations
Xandeum’s technology aims to address the current limitations of Solana’s storage model by providing a scalable solution that will allow decentralized applications (dApps) to access virtually unlimited storage.
Solana, often referred to as a “world computer,” currently faces challenges with its accounts functioning like “RAM” but lacking a corresponding “hard drive” for storage.
Xandeum’s scalable storage layer, which will be introduced at Breakpoint 2024, is set to fill that gap, enabling a massive expansion of storage-enabled dApps.
The innovative system includes “Xandeum buckets,” a decentralized and scalable file system integrated into Solana’s RPC nodes.
The storage will be managed by a decentralized network of storage provider nodes (pNodes) and overseen by Xandeum-enabled Solana validators.
These entities, along with liquid stakers, will earn additional rewards in SOL, thanks to fee markets optimized for storage efficiency and profitability.
“A low-cost, decentralized storage solution will drastically expand the application landscape,” said Tommy Johnson, co-founder and lead engineer at Armada.
It can unlock a new revenue stream for SOL validators and stakers. The Xandeum solution will have an enormous impact on the growth of the Solana ecosystem.
Launch of XAND token and liquid staking platform
At Breakpoint 2024, Xandeum will also unveil its storage-enabled liquid staking platform, scheduled to go live on October 29.
The platform will allow stakers to capture future Xandeum storage fees and will offer early adopters boosted rewards of up to 10x. More details can be found on the Xandeum network website.
The XAND token, which powers the Xandeum ecosystem, will launch on October 29, with an airdrop snapshot planned for October 8.
Xandeum community members attending Breakpoint 2024 will have the opportunity to learn more about the XAND token, liquid staking pool, and potential airdrops by visiting Xandeum’s booth at the event.
Supporting Solana’s next generation of dApps
Xandeum is developing new storage primitives to solve issues with Solana’s current account-based storage model, which is insufficient for handling large amounts of data.
The new solution is expected to support the next wave of scalable web3 applications while maintaining Solana’s security and decentralization.
Xandeum Labs, the lead developer behind the project, has raised $2.8 million to build out its scaling solution and has already completed over 4 billion transactions on its community-run devnet.
