According to a report published by The Verge and based on company memos, Meta’s Horizon Worlds will be on “quality lockdown” for the remainder of the year. The team is working hard to eliminate the many bugs and performance issues plaguing their metaverse world.
Another, more unusual problem that Horizon Worlds is experiencing is that even its developers are finding it hard to use it. Namely, despite orders from superiors, Meta’s employees rarely spend time on the platform. Perhaps they too are pushed back by the bugs and subpar graphics, which the internet is complaining about?
So far, Meta’s projects revolving around the metaverse have caused the company quite a substantial financial loss. Last year, it lost more than $10 billion; this year the company’s record has improved, with it only losing some $5.5 billion. We’ll see whether the community will eventually accept Horizon Worlds, and just what effect will that have on Meta’s overall revenue.
